In an increasingly complex and competitive world, how can you identify a path that taps your talents, allows you to contribute to society and creates lasting happiness for you? Of students graduating from National Taiwan University, many will be starting their careers in academia, the private sector, the public sector or NGOs. Whether you are someone with multiple interests or a clear single focus, the question remains as to how to assess your options. How do you choose between two totally different paths – joining a medical foundation or becoming a medical practitioner? Becoming a corporate lawyer or a law professor? Choosing between two universities if you know you want to continue research as a scholar? Or perhaps you are deciding between applying for a job at an established organization, or starting your own venture, whether a technology start-up or a social enterprise. There is no easy answer to any these questions. The choice depends on where your talent lies, where you are most needed, and what makes you happy in the long term. This session will look at how students can make the best possible decisions as they leave school.
